Class Tutorials

Hello Teachers!

We’ve compiled a few videos to help best understand how to teach various workshops. Our hope is that we can offer consistancy, detailed instruction, and an exciting and functional final product. Please be sure to watch the entire video and read the accompanying text to get an idea of what we’re looking for. And of course, reach out if you have questions! Thanks!

Let’s Make a Pipe!

Ceramic artist Lindsay Wood walks us through how to create a ceramic pipe using two different methods!

Tools Needed: clay, serrated and smooth ribs, large and small paintbrushes, medium hole cutter, wooden knife tools, needle tools, slip, underglazes.

Important Notes: After assembly is complete, students are welcome to decorate with underglazes, 2-D embellishments, and carving. Once bisque fired, pipes should be glazed on the exterior with clear glaze, and when possible, glazed on the interior as well. All holes should be cleaned out and free of glaze. If a hole is too small, skip glazing the inside! ** There is a small bucket of clear glaze labeled “PIPE GLAZE”, please use this clear for the pipes and NOT the larger bucket of glaze.**
