Interested in Slip Casting?
In this Beginner course, you’ll learn step by step how to create your very own plaster molds. You’ll implement casting, firing and glazing techniques to create multiples of various small forms. Taught by Matt and Val of People Via Plants, these pros will guide you through the steps to ensure you walk away with a 1 and 2 part mold perfect for creating reproductions of your favorite forms. Class is limited to 7 participants and must be 16 years of age or older.

This is a 4 week course and each session is 2.5 hours long.
CLASSES ARE ON THE SAME DAY FOR SIX (6) CONSECUTIVE WEEKS
All classes are 4 week sessions, 2.5 hours per session with materials, tools, and firing included in the class fee (additional clay can be purchased if needed). Students are given a shelf to store their works in progress during each session and will be notified when their wares are ready for pickup! Come explore clay with us!
Meet the Instructors
Matt Spahr and Valerie Molnar, long time collaborators and educators were brought to ceramics in 2016 via their love for plants and wish to make planters with good drainage. With their backgrounds in sculpture and painting and their keen interest in learning and exploring they started creating slip casting molds from various methods from CNC routing, to 3D printing, to hand carving, to assemblages of found objects to create a variety of shapes and textures within their ceramics.
