More than membership
Hand / Thrown is an active community of hands-on makers, friends, and artists. Our members are the backbone of who we are and play an integral part of what we will become. By supporting other artists in creating and sharing their work, we’re able to offer a platform for shared knowledge and support within our walls and beyond.

Members help us, as much as Hand / Thrown helps them. We nurture an environment of sharing knowledge so we can learn from one another in all aspects of studio life. As our community grows, so do the possibilities.
firing clients
We offer firing services for anyone who isn’t a student or member. That includes access to our ^6 studio glazes and both bisque and glaze firings. Firing charges are $3/lb ( that includes bisque and glaze firing). This is an in and out service, meaning we don’t offer any storage space and you’re required to pick up your wares as soon as the kiln is emptied. If you’d like to glaze in our studio, you’re welcome to during open studio hours for $7/hour. We also offer full kiln firings in each of our kilns. Dolly (a 21” Skutt): $35/Bisque, $45/Glaze and Frankie (27” L&L): $55/Bisque, $65/Glaze.
PART TIME MEMBERShip
We offer part time memberships for $150/month. This option is ideal for artists who already know their way around a clay studio and who don’t need much guidance, but still want to find community in clay. This membership includes two shelves for storage, access to our kilns, wheels, and other equipment as well as open studio access hours 6 days a week. Firing charges are $3/lb (that includes both bisque and glaze firings as well as access to our ^6 studio glazes).
